Director Ryu Seung-Wan (No Blood No Tears, The Unjust) is back with a Korean espionage film titled “The Berlin File.” Ha Jung-Woo (Nameless Gangster, The Chaser) will star as the North Korean spy who is left out to dry by his country after a deal goes wrong in Berlin. Ha, along with his wife, are pursued by North and South Korean operatives. Ryu Seung-Beom, (The Servant, The Unjust) Seung-Wan’s brother, will be playing opposite of Ha Jung-Woo. The cast will also consist of actress Jeon Ji-Hyun (My Sassy Girl, The Thieves) to portray Ha’s wife.
The film was said to have been shot almost entirely on location and 40 percent of the script was written in English. American screenwriter, Ted Geoghegan, helped with the revisions of the English portion.
I recently saw a short trailer for the film and think it looks really great. My 2013 list of movies I must see, just got longer.
